2010 Show

2010 Show is in the books!

On November 6, 2010 the WMPA 2010 show was again held at Drenthe Community Grove in Drenthe, Michigan. There were 17 exhibitors and over 170 birds. Scott Amo was the open show judge and Jack Melkerson was the rare breeds judge.

Show details

Birds were caged by 9:30 and with a larger than last year sale section there was excitement in the hall. The raffle items were plentiful again this year and this is always a great way to help support the club. The kitchen (another great support opportunity) was open the entire show with quite a selection this year, all at super affordable prices.

Scott Amo did a great job judging the open show and had a possible future judge shadow him for most of the judging. Scott did a great job explaining his choices to the audience and this was appreciated by many in attendance. Jack Melkerson handled the rare breeds judging and after the show stated "There were a lot of great birds. It was tough." CJ Hastings won best junior with a show type homer. Bob Jakobowski won best rare with a spangle swallow. Brad DeWys took best open with a black giant homer. The spangle swallow ended up taking best of show.

All in all it was another great show. See you next year!
